One Click Shutdown (Window XP)

Right click on desktop select new and then select shortcut as shown in the following image:

"Create Shortcut wizard" will appear on the desktop as shown in the following picture:

In the highlighted text box (as shown in the above picture) copy paste-

%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 3

and click next and name the shortcut as you like for example 'shut it', 'turn down', 'stop now' ( i have given the name OFF to that shortcut) and click finish. Now a shortcut is created on the desktop, double click that shortcut and PC will shutdown in 3 seconds.

You can also schedule PC shutdown, right click on the shutdown shortcut you created on the desktop, choose properties then choose shortcut tab as shown in the following picture:

then in the target text box change the numeral value 3 ( which represents shutdown time in seconds) highlighted in the above picture to the numeral value of your choice for example 3600 then press apply tab and then press ok , now if you double click the shutdown shortcut tab on the desktop then a countdown dialog box will appear representing PC shutdown after 3600 seconds that is 60 minutes.

And by the way if you accidently double click that shortcut tab (will schedule to shutdown your PC after the time scheduled by you), how will you cancel that scheduled shutdown task? Its simple press window key+ r key , run command window will appear on the start button in that window write cmd , then command prompt window will open , in that window write down
shutdown -a
and press enter , then scheduled task will be terminated.
